“I enrolled in the LA(H)B after collaborating in Argentina in three projects related to healthcare architecture. I noticed that it was a very extensive field and that at the same time it required great specificity. The LA(H)B is a valuable and effective source of knowledge because it is an intensive master's degree where you receive extensive training in sanitary architecture with the advantage of having Mario Corea as its director. Both he and all the teachers who make up the master are fully committed to the transmission of knowledge to the students.”

“At an academic and professional level it meant an important step in my life. The master's degree not only provided me with the technical tools necessary for healthcare architecture, which I can apply daily in my work in the studio, but also allowed me to continue with my training to be a better architect when designing. In 2019, my project for an urban hospital in Poblenou, developed in the first part of the master's degree, obtained 2nd prize in the “Future Leader Award” competition of the International Academy for Design & Health organized by the Cluster "Design of Health Facilities" of the Politecnico di Milano. On a personal level, it allowed me to live outside my country for the first time and introduced me to friends for life.”

Curriculum

María Emilia Nogal received her degree from the Universidad de Belgrano in Buenos Aires, Argentina. She has worked as an architect and construction manager at the Leiva-Saüer studio in Chubut, Argentina. In 2018 she joined the first edition of the master's degree Healthcare Architecture for Now and the Future and currently she is part of the team of architects at the studio of Mario Corea Arquitectura in Barcelona.
