Numerous visits are made to emblematic hospitals and buildings in Barcelona and other cities. These visits are guided by the project architects and provide a comprehensive vision of the specific functions of each project.
—
THE AIM IS FOR STUDENTS TO:
- Apply the knowledge they have acquired in order to analyze the functional systems of each area of the hospitals they visit.
- Interact with a variety of different professionals, from architects to medical directors, in order to reinforce their knowledge of the healthcare system.
- Compare the functional systems and construction systems in hospitals of varying complexity.
- Understand the cultural context in which the Catalan healthcare system has developed, by looking at iconic works from the first part of the 20th century.
