This project responds to its surroundings by generating certain limits towards its edges where industrial activities take place. Another important aspect is the decision to create an inward-looking space dedicated to functional aspects of the hospital. The zoning regulations favor a vertical building thereby allowing for natural light in the tower, views to the sea and a garden. The use of light and views helps create an environment that promotes a more effective recovery process for patients, while also enabling energy savings in terms of heating. Furthermore, the way the building is positioned enables it to grow and evolve over time.
