This project is based on three concepts: Identification, transition and humanization. Identification: investigation of the surroundings, current and future social needs and the needs of the patients to provide them with healing spaces. Transition: from the noisy city that provokes physical and emotional tension to tranquillity and the hope of recovery. The patients’ entrance is along a small tree-lined street with easy access, accompanied by nature and cantilevered volumes that function as porticos for encounters. Humanization: the main building with a smooth curve generates a feeling of welcome. Interior gardens, landscaped terraces, skylights, transparent facade, wide and flexible spaces, lighted waiting areas with open air views combine to reduce stress.
