Workshop 2021: Hospital La Model

The project is located in the Eixample of Barcelona, ​​on the site of the building that formerly housed the municipal prison known as “La Model,” which is now in disuse. The functional program is that of a 20,000 m2 medium-complexity hospital that includes critical services, emergencies, diagnostic imaging, surgical block, outpatient department, hospitalization and administration. In addition to the design of a highly functional and well-designed hospital, the other main objective of the project was its integration into the surrounding neighborhood.
