The Model is a prison that has a prominent role in the contemporary history of Barcelona, ​​and which has great symbolism for the citizens. Now it’s beginning the process to become a new place of reference that will no longer be the urban barrier that the prison represented during its use. The hospital concept was based on the intention to recover the maximum amount of urban space and transform it into a multipurpose public place that will allow for unification with its surroundings and the development of different integrating activities. There are three factors that define the arquitectural and urban sequence: natural space, public space, and private space.
