This project proposes a large green area that hospital users and neighbors alike can enjoy as a place to meet and move around. One feature of this new public space is that it offers protection from the noise of the traffic on the busy street of Carrer Entença. Another is that it extends and connects to the hospital, which both receives it and is surrounded by it. The position of the building diagonally across the site highlights its connection with the main thoroughfare, Avinguda de Josep Tarradellas, and this north-south orientation ensures the hospital gets the maximum intake of natural light. The building emerges from nature, from the green space surrounding it, fluent and without boundaries, and stands face-to-face with the people, welcoming them.
