In exceptional natural surroundings, the site allows the plant life and natural textures in its rolling topography to freely integrate with a horizontal architecture that opens to its setting. This complicity between architectural spaces and nature—with its lights and darks, sunlight entering between the branches of the trees, and projections of shadows and light coming through the facades into the building—results in a discreet spatial implantation. It also enables a connection and integration between peaceful routes around the hospital and the natural components of the landscape. As a result, the public is provided with a health service which, by its very nature, will allow for growth and development.
