Due to the dimensions of the site the decision was made to adopt a pavilion-like typology. A careful analysis revealed that it was important to take into account the axes formed by the streets and pedestrian walkways as well as the public spaces and parks. Its location between Pere IV street and Avinguda Diagonal generated two accesses on the same axis and at different levels. The main entrance and outpatient department is on the ground floor and has a direct connection to the Diagonal and the public space. At the other extreme, the access on the basement level leads to the critical area with an ambulance entrance for emergencies. The inpatient department is located on the upper floor between the interior patios.
