MARTHA AGUIRRE
Cali, Colombia
2017 EDITION

Currently Martha is working as an architect and consultant for different health institutions, such as the Reina Victoria Popayán Clinic of 16,200 m2, and the Luis Ablanque de la Plata Hospital in Buenaventura of 15,000 m2, among other projects.

“I chose the LA(H)B because, even though I had worked for 20 years as an infrastructure specialist in one of the largest clinics in Colombia and therefore knew the details about the operations and the problems of the healthcare sector, I wanted to know the different types of services and approaches at an international level, since the processes vary due to diverse factors, such as location, culture and healthcare policies.”

“By working inside the clinics you concentrate on the day-to-day, the equipment, the maintenance, the functionality and the budgets, the LA(H)B has allowed me to have tools to approach the design of healthcare institutions throughout their totality, creating master plans for existing institutions and designing optimal architectural configurations for new clinics.”
