Over time hospitals are forced to undergo continual transformations. The relentless appearance of new technologies compels us to design buildings that can interact with this constant evolution. So in order to stand the test of time and avoid obsolescence, the concept for this hospital project focuses on the resolution of functional aspects following a structured pattern, an ordered framework in which the hospital’s different programs can interact, and at the same time be expanded, moved or replaced. While the building’s solid form—in appearance not unlike an industrial warehouse—is in keeping with the neighboring constructions, its volume, spatial distribution and interior patios let in natural light, creating spaces of notable architectural quality.
