This project proposes a series of displaced blocks, which are set beside one another on the ground floor, while in the taller volume they are stacked and rotated by 45 degrees. This positions the hospital parallel to Avinguda de Josep Tarradellas, which runs diagonally past the corner of the site at a tangent to the rest of the streets. The whole ensemble is connected by an organic element that functions as circulation. This spatial arrangement causes an element of surprise in its urban setting and contains a myriad of public areas. From a functional point of view, the critical areas are situated near the major access routes, while the recovery areas are in the very center of the site, isolated from the urban noise. All the blocks are connected by public access, with each providing different services.
