YENNY AEDO
Cusco, Peru
The concept for this hospital was based on a horizontal volume encompassing four levels. The formal composition is based on a reticular pattern, which generate a variety of patios resulting in benefits such as accessibility, comfort, the use of natural light and adaptation to the immediate surroundings. With the premise of designing a building that would aid patients’ recovery processes in the heart of a very industrial area, two basic considerations emerged: the creation of a "green lung" working from the outside inward, and the positioning of the public spaces adjacent to the main street, so that they can act as an acoustic filter.
