The intention to provide connection between with the surrounding neighborhoods and the hospital is one of the basic concepts of the project and it’s acheived by the pedestrian promenade that provides circulation. The hospital adapts to the existing “Cal l’Alier” building, a heritage site that adds value to the area surrounding the hospital. The Krion skin that wraps around the hospitalization tower unifies and generates synergy between the two buildings. The texture, shape and angles of inclination enhance the project, without abandoning the formality of the hospital building.
"Thanks to the parametric skin covering the hospitalization tower, interesting dynamics and shadows are generated in the interiors. In addition to softening direct solar radiation, it visually lightens the overall project."
